About Trucking
A Little About Driving a Truck and What a Driver goes through
Contrary to popular belief, driving a Truck is not easy. The driver must know everything about his or her rig to be able to move it from point A to point B in an efficient and timely manner. Most of the general public seem to think that a truck driver has an easy life. Well, it is not quite that way. And here is why:
A Driver must watch everything around his or her rig as much as possible. A driver has to watch the occassional "four-wheeler" that tries to take up more of the roadway than it needs. Some of thse car drivers need to learn how to keep their vehicles in thier own travel lanes. If a Truck Driver can keep his or her 102 inch wide vehicle in between the lines, then so should someone driving something much smaller and narrower.
A Driver must put alot of long hours on America's roads getting a load to a warehouse so it can be sent out to the markets so you can buy what is needed in your everyday life. Sometimes You ask yourself why you cant find a particular item on a super market shelf, and you never think as to how it came about for you to be able to purchase it. Well, if it werent for a Trucker and a Truck, You wouldnt be able to get it.
Drivers end up in all kinds of weather trying to get your items from the manufacturer to the store. Blinding snow storms, cold dark nights, rainy and wet nights and days, over congested highways, and over zealous Law enforcement personnel all plague a drivers ability to do his or her job.
So next time You know you need something from the super market, or a convience store like that pack of gum, or that can of soda, or some tissue to blow your nose on: Thank A Truck Driver
